Relaunching a prominent Japanese brand
The innovative interior and entry design for SOGO’s Shinsaibashi Osaka flagship store was utilized to renew the 175-year-old brand. The design targets the strong purchasing power of a new demographic of women and their families with a fresh aesthetic.
Multiple escalator wells with classic facades lead shoppers to experience all of the 10 themed floors. Customers can visit the SOGO destination store for engaging shopping experiences and attractions, including restaurants, galleries, and performance spaces. A four-level entertainment atrium on the upper levels is connected to a rooftop garden. In its first month, the store hosted more than 1.5 million visitors and continues to be a revitalized Osaka retail and entertainment destination.
