Relaunching a prominent Japanese brand
The innovative interior design and entry imagery for SOGO’s Shinsaibashi Osaka flagship store was utilized to renew the 175-year-old brand. The design targeted the purchasing power of a diverse demographic of Osaka’s shoppers with a fresh retail aesthetic, and energized experience.
Multiple escalator wells with transport shoppers to varied experiences on all of the 10 themed floors. Customers visit the SOGO destination for engaging shopping experiences and social attractions, including restaurants, galleries, and performance spaces. A four-level entertainment event atrium on the upper levels is also connected to a rooftop garden. In its first month, the store hosted more than 1.5 million visitors and continues to be a preferred Osaka retail and entertainment destination.
